At his strongest, 100 Akres is reminiscent of Black Milk’s more focused moments, letting beats build on themselves naturally, stacking up in your mind until they’re larger than life. There are snippets of Dilla and DJ Shadow, but in a lot of ways, this tape is its own animal.
